Program Description
Set off on a two-day journey through the spectacular landscapes of southern Tunisia. Discover desert scenery, visit traditional Berber villages and spend the night in a camp on the edge of the Sahara.
Your adventure begins by leaving Djerba via the historic Roman causeway linking the island with the mainland. The first stop is Medenine, where you will see the distinctive ghorfas, former fortified granaries. The tour then continues to Tataouine, with time to visit the local market, followed by the Berber village of Chenini. After lunch, enjoy an exciting off-road drive through the desert towards the oasis of Ksar Ghilane, where you will have dinner and spend the night at Zmela Camp.
On the second day, explore Ksar Ghilane, the southernmost palm oasis in Tunisia, home to the ruins of a Roman fort (entrance to the fort is available for an additional fee). The journey then continues to Matmata, where you will visit a traditional Berber troglodyte house. After lunch, enjoy another off-road adventure through the mountain and desert landscapes of southern Tunisia before returning to Djerba by ferry.

Reviews
An excellent choice for a day trip. Plenty of attractions and a reliable guide. Around 560 km and including some wonderful sites in this region of Tunisia. The Sahara is unforgettable.
A brilliant trip! A very personalized jeep journey, in an intimate setting, under the supervision of our brilliant driver-guide, Sofian. He not only took us to less touristy places that were just as revealing, but also shared things we would never have learned on a large coach trip. It was like a family trip with a friend... I highly recommend it! I can`t imagine staying in Tunisia without this attraction! We`ll remember this two-day trip for a long time! Sofian - the best ever!
