Program Description
Discover some of Bangkok’s most important landmarks on a guided walking tour. In around two hours, you’ll explore the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, located within the palace complex and home to the famous Emerald Buddha.
Your tour begins at the Grand Palace in Bangkok, which served as the official residence of the Kings of Siam from 1782. As you walk through the extensive complex, admire richly decorated buildings, colourful mosaics and impressive statues. It’s a great opportunity to take a closer look at traditional Thai architecture and learn more about the history of the monarchy.
Next, you’ll visit Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Its most treasured feature is the Emerald Buddha - a small, highly revered statue carved from a single piece of jade. As you explore the temple grounds, you’ll get a closer look at one of Thailand’s most important sacred sites.
With several departure times available, you can easily fit the experience into your plans in Bangkok. This short walking tour gives you the chance to discover two of the city’s most significant landmarks and learn about their history with a guide.

Important information
- Dress code: strict dress code rules apply when visiting the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. Men should wear long trousers and a shirt or T-shirt with sleeves, while women should wear a long skirt or trousers that cover the knees. Clothing must not reveal the shoulders, underarms, back or knees. We recommend bringing a sarong, scarf or jumper to cover up if necessary.
- Grand Palace admission ticket: if you choose the option without entrance fees included, you can purchase your ticket on-site.
- The Grand Palace admission ticket also entitles visitors to watch a traditional Thai Khon masked dance performance at the Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre. The ticket can be used to attend a performance within 7 days. Shows take place from Monday to Friday at 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, with each performance lasting approximately 25 minutes. A complimentary one-way shuttle bus runs from the Phiman Deves Gate at the Grand Palace to the theatre, departing 30 minutes before each performance.
