Program Description
Discover the authentic flavours of Sri Lanka on a unique culinary experience that combines a scenic cycling tour, a visit to a local shop and a hands-on cooking class. This excursion is perfect for anyone who wants to explore the island's rich culinary traditions and learn how to prepare classic Sri Lankan dishes.
After hotel pick-up, you'll travel to the meeting point, where your bike ride begins. Your first stop is a local shop, where your guide will introduce you to the vegetables, herbs and spices commonly used in Sri Lankan cuisine, explaining their traditional uses and health benefits. After purchasing fresh local ingredients, you'll continue cycling through picturesque tea plantations to a traditional clay hut with a palm-leaf roof.
Here, you'll meet an experienced local chef who will demonstrate how to prepare authentic Sri Lankan dishes using traditional cooking techniques. Under the chef's guidance, you'll prepare the meals yourself before enjoying a tasting of the dishes you've created.
After this memorable culinary experience, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
