Program Description
Discover two of Sri Lanka's most remarkable destinations on a full-day excursion to Pinnawala and Kandy. This tour combines unforgettable wildlife encounters with the island's rich cultural heritage, offering the opportunity to visit an elephant sanctuary, a traditional tea factory and Sri Lanka's most sacred Buddhist temple.
After hotel pick-up, travel to Pinnawala, where you'll visit the famous elephant orphanage. This unique sanctuary provides care for elephants and offers visitors the chance to observe these magnificent animals while learning about their conservation and daily lives.
The journey then continues to Kandy, the last capital of the ancient Sinhalese Kingdom and one of Sri Lanka's cultural highlights. Following a lunch break, you'll visit a Ceylon tea factory, where you'll discover the tea-making process, from freshly picked leaves to the finished cup.
The tour also includes a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. Built in the late 16th century, the temple houses Sri Lanka's most revered relic – the Sacred Tooth of Buddha, an enduring symbol of the island's spiritual and historical heritage.
After the visit, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
The itinerary and programme may be subject to change.
