From sea turtles and hand-carved masks to a UNESCO-listed fortress and a scenic river cruise, this tour offers a wonderful introduction to the region's rich heritage.
After hotel pick-up, your first stop will be the Kosgoda Turtle Conservation Centre, where you'll learn about important sea turtle conservation programmes and have the opportunity to see young turtles before they are released into the ocean.
Next, continue to Ambalangoda, renowned for its centuries-old tradition of mask carving. Visit a local workshop to watch skilled artisans create colourful wooden masks inspired by Sri Lankan mythology and folklore.
The tour then continues to the historic city of Galle, home to the impressive Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest surviving European-built fortified city in Asia. Stroll through its charming streets and admire beautifully preserved Dutch colonial architecture dating back more than 400 years.
To end the day, travel to Balapitiya and enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the scenic Madu River, winding through peaceful mangrove forests, small islands and lush tropical landscapes.
