Program Description

An amazing tour combining adventure, culture and amazing landscapes. Pick up from the hotels in a 4x4 vehicle and drive towards the Al Qara mountain located in the Dhofar region, offering panoramic views of the city of Salalah and its surroundings. The firs point of interest is the Wadi Dawkah Valley, a UNESCO-listed site due to the incense trees that grow there. Walk along the trail to get a better understanding of the  area. Then drive towards Thumrait, an ancient city that used to be a stop on the routes of caravans travelling around the Arabian Peninsula, and is currently a crossroads for travelers in the region. Next on the agenda is the Lost City of Ubar, also known as the Atlantis of the Sands. Listed by UNESCO, it is an architectural treasure from ancient times. Optional (at additional cost): walking tour of the ruins. Drive towards the Empty Quarter, also know as Rub Al-Khali – the largest continuous sand desert in the world. Ride on sand dunes, sandboarding, camel watching or a leisurely walk on the golden sands. At the end of the day, time to enjoy a unique sunset over the desert as the sky shimmers in shades of orange, pink and purple. After dark, free time or an optional dinner served in a desert camp (extra charge, advance reservations necessary). Return to the hotels.
