Program Description

Discover one of Madagascar's last remaining primary rainforests during a journey to Lokobe Nature Reserve, a protected area renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity and endemic wildlife. This excursion offers a unique opportunity to explore untouched tropical nature, encounter fascinating animals and relax on a secluded island.

Your adventure begins with a visit to Lokobe Nature Reserve, home to one of the island's oldest equatorial forests. Accompanied by a local guide, you will walk through lush vegetation while learning about the reserve's remarkable ecosystem. Thanks to the absence of dangerous venomous animals, you can comfortably enjoy close encounters with Madagascar's unique wildlife. Along the trails, you may spot lemurs, colourful chameleons - including, with a little luck, one of the world's smallest species - as well as boa constrictors, frogs and many other endemic animals found nowhere else on Earth.

The reserve is equally famous for its rich tropical flora. During the walk, you will discover impressive traveller's palms and numerous other native species that thrive in this unique rainforest environment.

The programme also includes a visit to the Sacred Baobab in the village of Antafondro, a tree deeply respected by the local Malagasy community. Despite being knocked down by a cyclone, it continued to grow, making it a symbol of resilience and an important spiritual site for the island's inhabitants.

After exploring the reserve, you will head to the small island of Nosy Ambariobe, where there will be time to relax and swim in the crystal-clear waters surrounding its beautiful sandy beach.

The day concludes with lunch at a local restaurant, beautifully located among the mangroves, offering the perfect setting to enjoy traditional flavours before returning.

The order of sightseeing and the programme may be subject to change.

Professional care from the guide, phenomenal animal trackers from Madagascar and, on top of that, a fantastic dinner. Thank you ❤️

The trip was great, worth seeing and experiencing. A walk through the forest in search of animals, a visit to a "deserted" island for a rest, and a visit to a village for lunch were all very enjoyable and enjoyable. I recommend the trip – no rushing, no rushing.
