Program Description
Discover two sides of Mombasa on this full-day excursion, combining the city's rich historical heritage with the natural beauty of Haller Park, one of Kenya's most remarkable nature reserves.
Begin your journey in Mombasa Old Town, where narrow streets, historic mosques and centuries-old buildings reflect the city's unique blend of Arab, Portuguese and African influences. You will also have the opportunity to visit Fort Jesus, the impressive 16th-century fortress built by the Portuguese.
Continue to the Old Dhow Harbour, where traditional wooden boats still line the waterfront, before exploring the lively local bazaar. The tour also includes a visit to the Akamba Woodcarvers Factory, where you can watch skilled artisans create beautiful hand-carved wooden souvenirs using traditional techniques.
After lunch, head to Haller Park, a former limestone quarry transformed into a thriving nature reserve. Here, you can observe giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, giant tortoises and numerous bird species in a beautifully restored natural environment.
The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
