Program Description
Get ready for a fascinating journey back in time to one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. A trip to Pompeii allows you to discover the everyday life of ancient Romans, preserved for centuries after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
You will depart early in the morning from Sorrento. After approximately 45 minutes, you will arrive in Pompeii – a place listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its exceptional state of preservation.
On site, you will take part in an approximately 2-hour guided tour with a guide, who will lead you through the most important areas of the ancient city. Walking along the original streets, you will see the Roman Forum – the center of public life, the Temples of Jupiter and Apollo, the Basilica, and the Roman thermal baths, where social life once flourished. You will also admire well-preserved frescoes, mosaics, and Roman villas, offering a unique insight into life nearly two thousand years ago.
After the guided visit, you will have free time to explore Pompeii at your own pace, take photos, or simply soak in the atmosphere of this extraordinary place. The return to Sorrento is planned for around noon, making this tour an ideal half-day excursion during a stay on the Sorrento Coast.
