Program Description
In the heart of Sardinia, you will find places where time seems to slow down and nature remains untouched. This excursion is a perfect opportunity to combine a close encounter with wild landscapes and the discovery of one of the oldest cultures in Europe.
The tour begins in Giara Park, one of the island’s most unique natural areas. As you walk across the vast plateau, you will explore local fauna and flora and have the chance to see the famous Giara wild horses – small yet remarkably resilient animals that have lived here freely for centuries and have become a symbol of this region.
After the walk, it’s time to relax and enjoy an aperitivo with local products. You will taste regional specialities and experience the authentic flavours of Sardinia – simple, yet full of character.
Next, you will head to Barumini, home to the island’s most important archaeological site – Su Nuraxi, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the guided tour, you will discover the secrets of the Nuragic civilisation, whose stone structures have survived for over 3,000 years. It’s a fascinating journey into the past, offering insight into the life of Sardinia’s ancient inhabitants and the heritage that still shapes the island today.

Reviews
A very interesting trip.
Dominika beautifully explained the history of ancient and modern Sardinia. Connecting with nature and taking a wonderful walk through the park provides a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of today`s world. There aren`t any spectacular experiences on this trip, but there is peace, harmony with nature, and learning about the island`s history. The visit to the park culminates in a wonderful culinary feast – I discovered new flavors and will take them home. The trip isn`t easy because the temperature doesn`t make hiking easy, but the abundance of water and shaded stops at another Sardinian plant make it interesting. I recommend it for flora and fauna enthusiasts.
