Program Description
Discover the hidden beauty of Calabria on an excursion that combines history, breathtaking landscapes and the fragrant lavender fields of the Pollino region. This unique journey takes you through charming mountain villages and one of southern Italy's most enchanting natural attractions.
Your first stop is Morano Calabro, one of Calabria's most picturesque hilltop towns, nestled at the foot of the Pollino Massif. Stroll through its historic centre, admire its narrow streets and stone houses, and soak up the authentic atmosphere of this traditional Italian village. Overlooking the town are the ruins of the Norman-Swabian Castle, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
The journey continues to the Pollino Lavender Park, often referred to as Calabria's own Provence. Surrounded by colourful lavender fields, you will discover around 60 varieties of lavender, including the region's unique Loricanda variety. During a guided walk, learn about lavender cultivation and the remarkable properties of this aromatic plant while enjoying the peaceful scenery.
