The water at GeoSea is naturally heated to a comfortable 38-39°C, making it ideal for bathing throughout the year. Rich in natural minerals, the geothermal seawater has been valued by local residents for generations for its relaxing and skin-nourishing properties.
The story of GeoSea dates back to the mid-20th century, when drilling for hot water unexpectedly uncovered naturally heated seawater. Originally enjoyed only by the residents of Húsavík, who appreciated its beneficial qualities, the site has since evolved into one of Iceland’s most distinctive wellness destinations, combining modern facilities with the surrounding natural beauty.

All guests are asked to take a shower and wash thoroughly before entering the baths. GeoSea provides soap, shampoo and conditioner from the Icelandic natural skincare company, Sóley Organics.
