Program Description
The Danube does more than divide Budapest into Buda and Pest - it also brings them together in one remarkable setting. During the cruise, the city's most recognisable landmarks will gradually appear along both banks, creating a view where Budapest's history, architecture and everyday life come together along the river.
Spend around 60 minutes cruising along the Danube and see the city from a completely different perspective. Instead of walking from one landmark to another, you can sit back and watch different parts of Budapest unfold before you. It is also a great way to experience the city's riverside panorama, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One of the first landmarks to catch your eye will be the Hungarian Parliament Building - a monumental structure stretching along the river and one of Budapest's most recognisable sights. On the opposite bank, you will see Buda Castle and Fisherman's Bastion, rising above the historic part of the city. The route also takes you past Gellért Hill and the Chain Bridge, which has connected Buda and Pest since the 19th century. Each of these places has its own story, but together they reveal how the different parts of Budapest come to form one distinctive cityscape.
