Program Description

Siwa Oasis is one of the most extraordinary places in Egypt - a destination filled with desert landscapes, natural lakes and traces of ancient civilisations. This tour offers the chance to discover a completely different side of Egypt, far from crowded resorts and popular tourist routes. Expect breathtaking desert scenery, relaxing natural waters and fascinating history hidden among palm groves and sand dunes.

Your journey begins with a transfer to Siwa Oasis, located near the Libyan border. Upon arrival, there will be a short stop at a hotel, where you will have time to refresh and prepare for the adventure ahead. Afterwards, you will continue the tour in 4x4 safari jeeps to explore the region’s most remarkable attractions.

The first stop will be the ancient Roman cemeteries of Siwa, a reminder of the rich history of this isolated oasis. You will then head towards Egypt’s southwestern border while admiring the dramatic desert landscapes along the way. The tour continues to Dakrur Mountain and the picturesque Siwa Lake with Fatnas Island. This is the perfect place to relax, take photos and enjoy tea while surrounded by palm trees and peaceful lake views. You will also visit the famous Salt Lakes, known for their incredible turquoise waters. There will be an opportunity for a short swim and the unique experience of floating effortlessly in the mineral-rich water. Another highlight is the legendary Cleopatra’s Eye, also known as Cleopatra’s Bath. According to local legends, Queen Cleopatra herself once bathed in this natural spring, which remains one of Siwa’s most iconic attractions. The programme also includes a visit to the ancient Temple of Amun, closely linked to the story of Alexander the Great, who is believed to have travelled here to consult the famous oracle.

After lunch and some time to refresh, you will head to the centre of Siwa to explore the historic Shali Citadel, a former mud-brick fortress overlooking the oasis. There will also be free time for shopping and discovering local handicrafts and traditional products in certified shops.

The order of sightseeing and the programme may be subject to change.
