Program Description
Discover Cyprus through its most treasured landmarks, local traditions and places connected to the legend of Aphrodite. This full-day excursion combines ancient history, religious heritage and regional flavours, offering a fascinating insight into the island's rich cultural legacy.
Your journey begins in Geroskipou, where you will visit the Agia Paraskevi Church, considered one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture in Cyprus. You will then stop at a local sweet factory to learn how traditional loukoumi is made. There will also be an opportunity to sample this famous Cypriot delicacy.
The next stop is Ancient Kourion, once one of the most important city-kingdoms on the island. Exploring this remarkable archaeological site, you will discover traces of Cyprus's ancient past and visit the impressive Greco-Roman amphitheatre, renowned for its spectacular setting overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
The tour continues to the picturesque village of Omodos, located in the heart of the Troodos wine region. Here, you will visit the Monastery of the Holy Cross, famous for its valuable icons and intricate wood carvings. Next, you will head to a local winery, where you can learn about Cyprus's long winemaking tradition and enjoy a tasting of selected regional wines.
The final highlight of the day is Petra tou Romiou, better known as Aphrodite's Rock. According to Greek mythology, this is the birthplace of the goddess of love and beauty. Surrounded by dramatic coastal scenery, it is one of the island's most iconic landmarks and a perfect spot for memorable photographs.
