Program Description
Discover the authentic side of southern Croatia during a visit to the picturesque village of Čilipi, located in the fertile Konavle Valley. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in local traditions that have been carefully preserved by generations of residents. Expect a memorable experience filled with culture, music and customs that showcase the true spirit of Croatian village life.
Your visit begins with a warm local welcome featuring traditional grape brandy and dried figs - symbols of Croatian hospitality. You will then explore the Sunday market, where stalls overflowing with handicrafts, silk embroidery and regional souvenirs offer a glimpse into the everyday life of the Konavle region.
As church bells ring through the village, you will see locals dressed in their finest traditional attire making their way to Sunday mass. Afterwards, the church square comes alive with a colourful folklore performance. Men and women dressed in traditional costumes present regional songs and dances that have been passed down from generation to generation.
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the charm of Croatian customs, listen to Dalmatian music, and discover the important role cultural heritage continues to play in local community life. There will also be time to browse for unique souvenirs and handmade crafts created by local artisans.
