Program Description
Discover the highlights of Shanghai on a tour that combines traditional Chinese architecture, spiritual heritage and the modern skyline of one of the world's most dynamic cities.
Your journey begins at Yu Garden (Yu Yuan), one of China's finest classical gardens. Created during the Ming Dynasty in the 16th century as a peaceful retreat for a government official's parents, the garden is a masterpiece of traditional Chinese landscape design, featuring elegant pavilions, bamboo groves, koi ponds, rockeries and charming bridges that create a tranquil escape in the heart of the bustling city.
Next, explore Shanghai Old City, where narrow streets are lined with traditional shops selling antiques, jewellery and local delicacies. During your walk, you will also visit the historic City God Temple, one of Shanghai's most important places of worship.
After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the Jade Buddha Temple, one of the city's best-known Buddhist temples. Famous for its exquisite white jade Buddha statues, this peaceful sanctuary offers a striking contrast to Shanghai's vibrant urban atmosphere.
Your final stop is The Bund, Shanghai's iconic waterfront promenade overlooking the Huangpu River. Stroll along this historic boulevard, where elegant European-style buildings stand opposite the spectacular skyline of the modern Pudong district, creating one of the city's most famous panoramic views.
This excursion is the perfect way to experience both the historic charm and contemporary character of Shanghai in a single day.
The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
