Discover the northern part of Gran Canaria during a tour filled with nature, local flavours and city attractions. A day full of unforgettable experiences awaits you as you explore the island’s unique landscapes, visit a traditional banana plantation and discover the modern Poema del Mar Aquarium in Las Palmas. The tour begins with a drive towards Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where you will discover the surroundings of the emblematic Santa Catalina Hotel. This historic place is one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, combining culture, history and nature. During a walk through the gardens, you will learn more about the story of this iconic location and discover local cultural treasures, including the Atis Tirma monument and Pueblo Canario, a space inspired by traditional Canarian architecture. The gardens are also home to a beautiful selection of native Canarian plants, allowing you to experience the natural character of the island. Please note that the Santa Catalina Hotel itself is not visited from inside - the visit focuses on its exterior surroundings and gardens.
Next, you will visit a traditional Canary Islands banana plantation, where a guided tour will introduce you to the secrets of growing one of the island’s most famous products. You will learn interesting facts about banana cultivation and see what everyday life on the plantation looks like. At the end of the visit, you will enjoy a tasting of local products, allowing you to experience the authentic flavours of Gran Canaria.
The next part of the excursion takes you to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the island’s vibrant capital, known for combining modern city life with a seaside atmosphere. Here, you will visit the modern Poema del Mar Aquarium, which offers a fascinating journey into the underwater world. You will see sharks, stingrays and hundreds of exotic marine species, while huge panoramic windows and spectacular underwater tunnels will make you feel as if you are walking on the ocean floor. It is one of the most modern aquariums in Europe and a true highlight for sea life enthusiasts.
After the visit to Las Palmas, you will return to the hotel in the afternoon. This excursion perfectly combines nature, local culture and some of the most interesting attractions of Las Palmas and northern Gran Canaria.
