Program Description
Discover two of Bulgaria's most fascinating historic towns on this full-day excursion. Visit Plovdiv, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, and the picturesque town of Koprivshtitsa, where the atmosphere of the Bulgarian National Revival has been beautifully preserved.
The tour begins at the meeting point, followed by an approximately two-hour drive to Plovdiv, the ancient city of Philippopolis and Bulgaria's second-largest city. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the charming Old Town, strolling along its cobbled streets while admiring remarkable Roman monuments and beautifully preserved 19th-century houses that reflect the city's rich cultural heritage. Afterwards, you'll have free time to enjoy lunch and explore at your own pace.
The journey then continues to Koprivshtitsa, a small town nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by magnificent mountains. Preserved as an open-air museum, the town offers a unique glimpse into the Bulgarian National Revival period, with its colourful historic houses and authentic atmosphere. You'll have free time to wander through the town and soak up its distinctive charm.
After the visit, you'll return to the original meeting point.
