Program Description
Discover one of Belgium's most iconic culinary traditions at the Frietmuseum Brussels. This unique interactive museum is dedicated to the history of Belgian fries and the potato – the humble ingredient that became a national symbol.
During your self-guided visit with an audio guide, explore three floors of fascinating exhibitions tracing the history of potato cultivation from South America to Europe and learn how Belgian fries became one of the country's most famous culinary specialities. Along the way, discover more than 1,600 exhibits, vintage posters, films, interactive displays and stories shared by traditional fry makers.
A highlight of the museum is Frietland, an exhibition dedicated to Belgian fries, their traditions, folklore and the art of preparing them. Your visit concludes with a tasting of authentic Belgian fries, prepared according to local tradition.
