Program Description

Discover the history of one of Europe's most significant Jewish communities with a visit to the Jewish Museum Vienna. This remarkable museum offers a deeper understanding of Jewish heritage in Austria and the events that shaped the lives of Vienna's Jewish community over the centuries.

Your ticket includes admission to both museum locationsPalais Eskeles on Dorotheergasse and the museum at Judenplatz. The permanent exhibitions trace the history of Vienna's Jewish community from the Middle Ages to the present day, including the expulsion of Viennese Jews in the 15th century and their efforts to rebuild communal and cultural life after the Second World War.

During your visit, you will encounter moving installations such as the Installation of Memory and the Memory Map, which honour Holocaust survivors and preserve their stories. The museum is also home to an extensive collection of Judaica, offering a fascinating insight into the traditions, culture and everyday life of what was once one of Europe's largest Jewish communities.

This is a place for reflection, presenting Vienna's Jewish history, memory and cultural heritage with great care and respect.
